About Me
Hello!! My name is Marti Stary, and teaching science thrills me. I have taught 30 years at WRMS and love teaching 6th grade. Middle school is a time of growth and change for adolescents, and I feel privileged to play a part in this life changing time.
I grew up in Yoakum, TX., which is considered the leather capitol of the world. After high school I attended UT and SWTSU, now known as Texas State University. I graduated from SWTSU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education and Biology. My husband, Randy, and I have a 23 year old daughter named Lainey. She graduated from Southwestern University last May with a degree in Animal Behavior. She is currently doing an internship with Disney and enjoying her time giving safari tours. My family is very important to me, and I value time spent with them. We love animals, the outdoors, playing games, snow skiing, hunting, fishing, camping, and going to the beach. I enjoy lots of things in my free time like horseback riding, yoga, cooking, race walking, swimming and much more. I collect horses, ladybugs, and animal skulls. I am also very interested in nutrition and natural health and healing which led me back to school to learn some new things. I am a Registered Massage Therapist and am a B.E.S.T. practitioner(Bio Energetic Sychronization Technique). I continue massage and B.E.S.T. in my spare time. Please feel free to contact me by email, [email protected], or by phone, 732-9240 EXT 32306. My conference period is 3rd period which begins at 10:25 and ends at 11:20. I check my email daily during my conference time and/or after school. Tutoring time is Tuesday 8:00-8:25 or other days by appointment. Please see information in Classroom Rules and Procedures found in your student's science journal. Welcome to the wonderful world of science!!! |
